Malibran had presented the manuscript to Mori in 1830 at Worcester for inclusion in The Musical Gem for 1831 and here, in addition to the printed music and words, they print a two page facsimile (signed on the second page) of Mmme Malibrans manuscript. The Portrait printed by J Graf is a reduction of the portrait by Grevedon and measures 199 x 155. Sheets (4) 335 x 247mm, 2 sides manuscript facsimile, 4 sides printed.



Maria Malibran, creator of Donizetti's Maria Stuarda and works by Bellini and Mendelssohn, was one of the most celebrated singers in history, whose early death at the age of 28 contributed to her status as a figure of legend. (9212)
