A 1931 advertisement in the Chesterian for a later transcription of the ‘Mouvements Perpétuels,' reports that they "in their original form for Piano Solo were among the earliest compositions of Francis Poulenc to be placed before the public and J. & W. Chester, Ltd. feel that it is a matter for self-congratulation that they were among the first to recognize the merits of this able composer, who has more than lived up to his early promise." (9165)
