From Breitkopf & Härtel's Gesamtausgabe (Complete Edition), the first collected edition of the works of Ludwig van Beethoven, published between 1862 and 1865. Red marbled boards, front board almost completely detached, lacking spine cover and lacking prelims [begins on page 1 of score], first leaf repaired along gutter, general browning throughout, light handling creases lower right corners of most pages, performance markings in graphite, red and blue pencil throughout. The copy of organist and conductor Wilhelm Bergner, with his ownership stamp upper left of first page and presumably his markings. This copy later in the collection of noted American composer and theorist, George Perle (1915 - 2009) and with his ownership stamp on the front free endpage. (9149)
