"El poema infinito" - Autograph Musical Quotation
Uncommon AMQS from the Spanish composer. 4 measures, marked "Vivo" and identified as from "El poema infinito." Signed "Joaquin Turina" and dated "Madrid - 7 - Diciembre - 1922." On a light pink album sheet 15.2 x 8.5 cm, closely trimmed at the right edge, an AMQS on the verso by English composer, Cecil Armstrong Gibbs (1889 - 1960).Born in Seville, Turina studied in Paris with d'Indy and Moszkowski. With his friend de Falla, he returned to Madrid and taught at the Royal Conservatory. His "El poema infinito" is a work for piano, his Op. 77, and was composed in 1933. (9103)
