Large single sheet flyer, January 27, 1901, for a performance by Gustav Mahler conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. The soloists for the historic program were Elize Elizza, Lotte Kusmitsch, Franz Naval and Moritz Frauschner.  Text "O Freunde..." printed on the verso. With a central fold and two approximately 2 inch tears from the left margin, else fine. 9.5 x 12 inches [24 x 30.5 cm]. 
Original programs from Mahler's illustrious Viennese tenure are quite scarce; the present large and striking example, linking Mahler to his symphonic mentor, is a great rarity indeed. (8858)
