Signed profile bust portrait photograph from the important Italian composer, dated "Cincinnati 7-II-[1]926" and inscribed "Per la Signa. Mme. Verna Cook, in ricordo / Ottorini Respighi." Deckled edges as issued, some silvering and mounting traces to verso, otherwise fine. A most unusual image. 12 x 15 cm.

The signature dates from one of Respighi's performances on his 1926 U.S. tour, during which he lead performances of his "Concerto di modo misolidio," the "Antiche danze ed arie," and "Pini di Roma" among others. (8714)
