Signed 5.5 x 7 inch halftone photograph of the Russian born American ballet dancer and choreographer. Mounted to rigid backing, else fine.An early associate of Anna Pavlova, he later was a major figure in Diaghilev's Ballet Russes. An injury sustained during a US tour lead him to leave the company and remain in the US, where he went on to organize "Ballet Intime" and collaborate with the New York Metropolitan Opera. (8405)
