Gershwin, George. (1898–1937)

Signed Photograph

An unusual doubleweight close-up profile shot of Gershwin wearing a dark jacket, white shirt and striped tie. Along the top and right edge Gershwin has penned, “To H.C. Branch, Every good wish...” N.p., April 2, 1930. 7.25 x 9.5 inches. Small crease to lower right corner, barely perceptible surface crease upper left; otherwise in very fine condition.

Our striking photograph was signed in 1930, the same year as the publication of a number of the Gershwin brothers’ greatest hits, including, Bidin’ My Time, But Not for Me, Embraceable You, I Got Rhythm, and I’ve Got a Crush on You. (8134)
