Bust Portrait

Large painted plaster bust portrait, ca. 1870, 17.5 x 12 inches. In good condition, some minor chipping, scratches and soiling. Marked by the producer: Eigentum der Gebr. Micheli Berlin.


The plaster cast company Micheli produced busts by C. D. Rauch, Canova, Thorvaldsen and others. The Mendelssohn bust is probably a work by the Micheli-brother and sculptor Aurelio who in 1860/70 realised some busts of musicians. (8075)
