Signed Photograph from the longtime Boston Symphony Conductor. An attractive bust portrait, signed and inscribed in 1950 int he lower margin to Carlos Pinfield (1889 - 1956), violinist in the BSO who was also first violin of the Boston Symphony Quartet . 19 x 25 cm.


Charles Münch was Music Director of the Boston Symphony from 1949 to 1962 and Director of the Berkshire Music Festival/Center (Tanglewood) from 1951 to 1962. As BSO conductor, he resumed "the policy initiated there by Monteux in the 1920s of making the Boston SO the chief agent for the introduction of new French music to the American public."
