Autograph Manuscript Page

Original unsigned autograph manuscript page from the Journal of the American poet, author and philosopher whose central role in the Transcendentalist movement earned him a place among the most influential figures in 19th-century literature and thought. His two collections of Essays, which encompass such wide-ranging topics as “Love,” “Self-Reliance,” “Experience,” “Nature,” and “Politics,” remain a fixture of the Western canon.

"Of course, The smallest increments of mental power in the man countervail the largest accumulations of physical impediment in the enterprise. Shakespeare is only an accelerated process. Good fortune is only another name for quick perceptions."
