Elusive autograph signed letter from the celebrated Russian ballerina and actress. 2 pp. 6.25 x 8, 11 January, 1937 [actually 1938]. In part: "Je vous remercie de tout cœur. Je serai heureuse d'assister samedi à cette messe pour notre cher et grand ami" [the mass on January 15 for Maurice Ravel, who had died on the 28th of December, 1937]. 21 x 27 cm.

Roland-Manuel, Alexis. (1891 - 1960). Influential French composer and critic, student of d'Indy and Roussel, friend of Satie who in 1911 introduced him to Ravel whose pupil, friend and biographer he soon became. (7284)
