Bronze Portrait Plaquette

Striking portrait in bronze by Henri Dropsy, created in 1927 to honor the composer in the 100th anniversary of his death. The composer is show bust facing left and on the verso, winged Victory holding a laurel wreath. Apparently presented as an award, the date of "10 Fevrier 1938" and the initials "T.H." are inscribed on the verso. Medal measures 50 mm in diameter, enhanced by bronze slab joined along the bottom edge mounted to a marble slab and standing 70 mm tall overall. In very fine condition. Niggl 283. (6908)
