Bold autograph and inscription from the great Italian composer who takes a place among the most influential figures in the history of opera.

Four months after the premiere of Otello and after his return to Genova, the composer has penned an autograph inscription to a member of a famous Uruguayan family: "Alla gentile Signora Felicia Cibis de Stajano / G. Verdi / Genoa 8 Maggio 1887"

On a page measuring 7.5 x 10.5 cm. The page rather toned and foxed, else fine. Sold together with a vintage postcard portrait. (6505)
