"Two Scholar's Songs, Op. 78" - Autograph Manuscript

Autograph Musical Manuscript, signed and Inscribed, "à Walter Damrosch / trés amicalement / Vincent d'Indy," at upper right of first page, booklet containing two works entitled "Fall In" and "To the New Year." Including additional signature and holograph title, in English, "Two Scholar's Songs / for two voices / with or without accompaniment / Vincent d'Indy / 1921," on first page. Each song with lyrics in English, notated on up to three four-stave systems per page. Together 6 pages, 4to, written on two folded sheets with 14 printed staves per page, bound together with string; each music page marked with large "X" in blue pencil. Np, 1921.

The present work was solicited between April 1921 and May 1922 by Walter Damrosch, who was charged by music publisher Hinds, Hayden & Eldredge to obtain music that could be adapted for use in schools.
