Signed Letter regarding "Sound of Music"

1 page. On personal letterhead. July 31, 1962. Signed "Dick." 10.5 x 7.5 inches and in very fine condition. Sold together with the original transmissal envelope. In part: "I can't begin to tell you how happy your letter has made me. It brought back to me the happy moments of my work with London company of 'The Sound of Music'. I've had very few associations in my theatrical life that have been quite so gratifying as my one with you and I treasure it."

An interesting letter to the celebrated English contralto who, after more than a decade of roles with the Covent Garden Opera Company and with other companies and on the concert stage, performed for six years in The Sound of Music in London as the Mother Abbess. (5770)
