In part: "I can't begin to tell you how happy your letter has made me. It brought back to me the happy moments of my work with London company of 'The Sound of Music'. I've had very few associations in my theatrical life that have been quite so gratifying as my one with you and I treasure it."An interesting letter to the celebrated English contralto who, after more than a decade of roles with the Covent Garden Opera Company and with other companies and on the concert stage, performed for six years in The Sound of Music in London as the Mother Abbess.
