Signed postcard photo of the celebrated American violinist, boldly signed and dated May, 1917. 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Postally cancelled on the image and sent from Havana, Cuba where this signature was obtained.

Powell studied with Joachim in Berlin, debuted under him with the Berlin Philharmonic and in the same year appeared with the NY Philharmonic under Thomas. Her long and successful career included the US premieres of major violin works by Dvorak, Lalo, Saint-Saens, Sibelius and Tchaikovsky as well as a variety of American composers whom she championed.
