Original 1901 Concert Program - Beethoven IX

A very scarce and unusual Vienna concert program (large single sheet flyer, ca. 9.5 x 12 inch), January 27, 1901. Gustav Mahler conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. The soloists for the historic program were Elize Elizza, Lotte Kusmitsch, Franz Naval and Moritz Frauschner. In very fine condition, with a central fold.

Original programs from Mahler's illustrious Viennese tenure are quite scarce; the present example, linking Mahler to his symphonic mentor, is a great rarity indeed. (5494)
