An interesting signed photograph, signed inscribed in the lower blank margin by the composer to the singer Margarete Teschemascher, calling her an "outstanding Arabella": "“Fräulein Margarete Teschemacher, der ausgezeichneten Arabella, … aufrichtig ergeben Richard Strauss. Stuttgart, 12.II.33." An original photograph from the Atelier Illengerger of Stuttgart, measuring 27.5 x 22 cm overall and signed additionally by the photographer.



The German soprano, Margarete Teschemacher (1903 - 1959) was one of the preeminent Strauss signers of her time and created the title of role in Strauss's "Daphne" in 1938. (5353)
