Halftone Nadar photograph of the great Polish tenor, boldly signed in purple ink. 14.5 x 10.5 cm, attractively mounted on a custom period mat board to 26.5 x 13.5 cm overall and in very fine condition. A note on the verso records that the image was sent to the singer at his Paris address on March 16, 1912 and was returned signed on April 17th.

An international star, he was the leading tenor at the Metropolitan before Caruso and opened an important voice school in Nice where he taught many great singers, including Bidu Sayao and Maggie Teyte to name but two. (5169)
