Scarce signed photograph from the leading violist of his time, a member of the London String Quartet and the NBC Symphony under Toscanini before embarking on an unprecedented successful solo career as violist.

A very fine signed halftone portrait of Primrose with his viola, boldly signed on the image and inscribed below on the mount the photograph to the noted Columbian musicologist, Otto de Greiff (1903 - 1995): "For Senor Otto de Greiff, with admiration + sincere good wishes. Bogota 1945." Light vertical crease through mounted photograph, some foxing on mount, but overall fine. Signed photographs of Primrose are VERY elusive. (4295)
