A highly unusual original portrait of the great pianist at the keyboard. Pen and ink on paper, signed lower right. 22.5 x 30 cm.Garady made many portraits of the great pianist, and he was her favorite of the many artists who painted her. His work has appeared on the cover of her recordings and in books about her (Spycket). Interestingly, the artist was also the painting instructor of Tennessee Williams. (3837)
