Signed document in German. One page, 5.75 x 3.75 inches. February 9, 1926. Postal confirmation receipt in which Schönberg acknowledges receiving a letter on the ninth of January. Neatly signed near the bottom in black ink. In fine condition, with a small corner stain and light overall handling wear. Ideal for display with a photograph.

In the month of this autograph, Schoenberg arrived in Berlin with his pupils Roberto Gerhard, Winifried Zillig and Josef Rufer in order to take up his post as Director of a Master Class in Composition at the Prussian Academy of Arts. In that capacity, he replaced Ferruccio Busoni, who had held the post until his death in 1924. Schoenberg remained in Berlin until the rise of Hitler in 1933 when he was dismissed and forced into exile. (3441)
