Superb image of the supreme Russian violinist, noted for his fine interpretations of the unaccompanied Bach sonatas and Romantic works. He performed well into his mid-80s, won a 1975 Grammy, a Legion of Honor medal from France and a Kennedy Center Honor. One of the GREATS.
