Portraits of Musicians. SIGNED.
London: Musicians Benevolent Fund. 1991. A remarkable collection of portraits of celebrated musicians - singers and instrumentalists - each signed by the subject and measuring 15 x 20 cm. Each card features a print of an oval pencil portrait by Honor Earl and the set was issued in a limited signed edition of of 200 (this copy 6/200) to benefit the Musicians Benevolent Fund in its 70th Anniversary year of 1991. The signers include Janet Baker, Evelyn Barbirolli, Harry Blech, Colin Carr, Levon Chilingrian, Peter Frankl, Evelyn Glennie, Sidonie Goosens, Heather Harper, Antony Hopins, Steven Isserlis, Charles Mackerras, Jane Mannin, Yvonne Minton, Robert Lloyd, Felicity Lott, Neville Marriner, Martin Neary, Andrzej Panufnik, Gyorgy Pauk, Melvyn Tan, and Jeffrey Tate. There are 61 signed portraits in total, all housed in a folding box, inscribed by pianist Marguerite Wolff (also one of the signed portraits), "To my darling Arvid / Much love. Marguerite."
