Fine original stipple engraving of the great actress in the role of Euphrasia in the tragedy by the Irish writer Arthur Murphy, "The Grecian Daughter."  Engraved by T. Wageman after the original of T. Woolnoth and issued in 1830 by John Cumberland.  Trimmed to 2.5 x 3.7 inches (6.5 x 9.5 cm), mounted to an itaglio relief-printed page measuring overall 6 x 8 inches (15.5 x 20.5 cm.).

Born into the famous Kemble theatrical family as the eldest daughter of actor Charles Kemble, and niece of Sarah Siddons, Fanny went on to become one of the most celebrated actresses of her time. In addition to her performing, she authored several plays, a book of poems and a number of memoirs. After marrying an American and moving to Georgia, she became an outspoken critic of slavery.
