Morea Caricature – Signed and Dedicated to Igor Kipnis
An amusing caricature drawing from the Estate of Igor Kipnis, important keyboard player who brought renewed interest worldwide to his instrument and who comissioned/premiered many important works for the instrument. Son of Russian bass, Alexander Kipnis (and the reason why we mistakenly put this in the Opera section of the catalogue!), he performed extensively throughout the world and recorded virtually all the major harpischord works from the 16th century to the present. Inscribed "a Igor Kipnis great clavecinate from Morea 2/6 24 horas TV. CANA/5." Some creasing, warping and darkening of the paper, else fine. Measures 18.75 inches x 11.75 inches (47.6 x 29.8 centimeters). (277)Book
