"Iris" - Original Program for Performance Conducted by the Composer

Original program from a 1922 performance of his "Iris," at the Teatro Urquiza in Montevideo, Uruguay. Mascagni himself conducted and the lead roles were performed by Gilda Dalla Rizza and Hipolito Lazzaro. Two hole-punches, else fine. Full of fabulous period advertisements and early photographs of the composer and singers.

Pietro Mascagni was a beloved figure in Latin America and made several tours to Argentina and Uruguay. His opera "Isabeau" received its world premiere in Buenos Aires. (2479)
