Three Rare Medals

Three rare medals honoring the French composer most famous as the author of the Marseillaise. All three extremely fine or nearly so and with provenance from the famous Niggl collection. As follows:

Copper medal, 1833, by Rogat. Recto shows head turned towards right, verso with music and text of the Marseillaise.51mm (Niggl 1727).

Bronze medal, by A Borrel. Recto shows head turned towards right, verso with music and text of the Marseillaise. 58mm (Niggl 1724).
