Of Men and Music, shot in black and white, was billed as a documentary even though it introduces a fictional character to interview and film the real-life musicians portrayed in the movie—Arthur Rubinstein, Jascha Heifetz, and Dimitri Mitropoulos with the New York Philharmonic, among others.
