Porter, Cole. (1891–1964)

RED HOT AND BLUE: ONE OF ONLY 300 COPIES SIGNED BY COLE PORTER

New York: Random House. 1936. First edition. Red Hot and Blue. A Musical Comedy. Quarto, original red, white and blue moire silk over boards. Signed limited first edition, one of only 300 copies signed by Cole Porter. Quarto. Title page printed in blue, red and black. Notorious for surviving in poor condition due to its fragile silk binding, the present covers are as usual stained and worn, and the first few pages have staining along portions of the margins. The signed limitation page is separated along the edge, but it and all of the musical numbers are otherwise clean and unharmed. This magnificent volume contains the lyrics, melody, and piano accompaniment for the ten songs from this popular Cole Porter musical comedy, including "It's De-Lovely," "You're a Bad Influence on Me," "A Little Skipper from Heaven Above," "What a Great Pair We'll Be," and "Red Hot and Blue."
