Redding, Otis. (1941-1967)

Glass Photographic Memorial Tray

Rare glass memorial tray, honoring the singer, known as the ‘King of Soul,’ who died tragically in a plane crash at the age of 26; a month later ‘(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay’ was posthumously released and became his only number one single. Evidently prepared shortly after his death, the black glass tray features a black and white photograph portrait of Redding with gilt detailing and the printed text "In Memoriam / Otis Redding / 1941-1967." Corners a little chipped, but overall in fine condition and quite rare. 5 x 7 inches (13 x 19 cm).  (21297)
