Signed Photograph to Anne Miller

Signed original doubleweight Ernest A. Bachrach doubleweight portrait photograph of the American dancer and choreographer, who has inscribed to actress Ann Miller, "To Ann - / A Dancer second to no one / Best always / Hermes" in white to the lower left.  Photographer's stamp to verso, in fine condition.  8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.).  Together with two original same sized 1940 photographs by Gaston Longet for Radio Pictures of Pan with Miller.

For much of the 20th century, Hermes Pan was one of the most important choreographers in Hollywood, working with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers on their string of 1930s movie musicals.  Pan was Ann Miller's teacher after she came to Hollywood as a teenager in the 1930s, and the two maintained a friendship that lasted until Pan's death over fifty years later.
