An interesting painted study of hands, including of one pointing with extended finger and another clasping a stylus, the disembodied hands all floating in the space and offerings thus a somewhat surreal effect. Oil on canvas, unsigned but evidently French school, ca. 1840. Canvas from the maker Haro Fils. In a somewhat worn but attractive period frame.
