"Dracula" - Signed Promotional Photograph

Signed Universal Pictures promotional photograph of the British legend of stage and screen in a scene from the 1979 film Dracula, in which he played Abraham Van Helsing opposite Frank Langella's Count Dracula.  Olivier has signed in black felt tip to the lower right corner of the image.  Typewritten press release to verso reads, in part, "Aware that vampires cast no reflections, Professor Van Helsing (LAURENCE OLIVIER) holds up a mirror to 'Dracula,' in Universal's stylish, sensual, and scary new film."  Moderate surface creases to right margin, image unaffected, else in very fine condition.  8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.).

Olivier is one of the most critically lauded and awarded actors in history, with a stage and film career spanning much of the 20th century.  He was widely known for his Shakespearean performances and adaptations, directing three over the course of his career.  A classical actor, Olivier famously responded to Dustin Hoffman's decision to stay up for three days prior to filming a scene for Marathon Man by saying, "My dear boy, why don't you just try acting?"
