Signed photograph of the American actor best remembered for his role as Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic Psycho. Perkins has inscribed "To Paul / Many thanks...Tony Perkins" in black ink. Spotting to lower margin, image unaffected, overall in fine condition. 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.).Perkins, a successful actor with a long and varied career, was always closely associated with his performance as Bates in Psycho and its three sequels. Among his partners were actor Tab Hunter, dancer Rudolf Nureyev, and composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim. In 1973, he married photographer Berinthia "Berry" Berenson, with whom he had two children. Perkins died of AIDS-related pneumonia at age 60 in 1992.
