Original photograph by Italian photographer Alfredo Valente of the beloved opera and Broadway star, who has signed and inscribed to French composer H. Maurice Jacquet: "To Maurice Jacquet / In remembrance + all good wishes / Grace Moore / 1942" in black ink to the lower margin.  Jacquet accompanied the singer for a performance in Quebec CIty on November 3 of the same year.  Photographer stamp to verso.  Chipping to lower right and upper left corners, pin holes to each corner and some toning, else in very good condition.  7.75 x 9.75 inches (19.7 x 24.8 cm.).

Moore was a celebrated soprano and an internationally famous star of the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway, motion pictures, radio and recordings who was also known as, and played, “The Tennessee Nightingale.”  She died tragically in an airplane crash in 1947.  It has been claimed that Elvis Presley's "Graceland" mansion was named in honor of her.
