Rare autograph note signed from the famously reclusive and prickly artist, who has written to a vendor on the back of a color postcard reproduction of his painting Painter and Model. London, 8-7-05. In full, "Dear Mr. Chidwick / thank you for your intriguing poem. / Lucian Freud." Together with a copy of the referenced poem, "Surprised by a Naked Swimmer (after Lucian Freud)," which was sent to Freud by Mr. Chidwick. In very fine condition. 4.15 x 5.8 inches (10.5 x 14.7 cm.).
