"A few radishes for me, please?" - Amusing Autograph Letter Signed

ALS from the composer and playwright who wrote the book, score and lyrics for "The Music Man" and the score for "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," addressed to two friends in response to a birthday letter.  May 18th, 1976;  2 pp. on personal stationary.  In full, "Dear Mac and Viv: / What a birthday surprise to start 'my day' with your beautiful letter! Delighted to hear about Mac's garden.  A few radishes for me, please?  Maybe just a small row - or two?  (The red ones, please, not those long white hot ones.)  Good luck on your corn, Mac.  I quote you from my 'Iowa Indian Song' about 'the tall corn' – 'knee high by the 4th of July in Iowa!' / Love to both from both – per Meredith. / We have been traveling a bit – like, for instance, to Australia, and New Zealand, with a restful stop-over in the Hawaiian Islands en route home.  We were always peeking around this corner and that – hoping to be lucky enough to bump into you two travelers. / Love, again, from both. / R and M. / (A few red ones?
