TLS from the Broadway lyricist to John Yorke, a Broadway Theatre manager, thanking him for his efforts during the previous year.  December 20, 1950;  1 pp. on personal stationary.  In full, "Jackie boy: / You have been a real hero this year.  I won't forget it.  And I hope some day I will be able to put my admiration into deed. / In the meantime a merry Christmas and I hope it will prove to be a rich New Year. / Faithfully, [Alan]."  Light toning, expected mailing folds, else fine.  7.25 x 10.5 inches (18.4 x 26.7 cm.).

The original Broadway production of Brigadoon opened March 13, 1947, at the Ziegfeld Theatre, where it ran for 581 performances. The musical was revived at New York City Center in May 1950, produced by John Yorke. The following year did also indeed bring further success, with Paint Your Wagon opening on Broadway in December of 1951, also with Yorke credited as General Manager. (19594)
