One of the most iconic of all jazz photographs, William Gottlieb's depiction of the legendary jazz performers mid-set at the Downbeat Club in New York City, Fitzgerald looking out over the audience as Gillespie gazes at her with admiration. Gelatin silver print, circa 1946-48; printed later. With photographer's signature to lower left corner and photographer's stamp to verso. Not examined out of frame but in apparently fine condition. Sight: 10.25 x 13.25 inches (26 x 33.6 cm.).; framed to 17.25 x 21.25 inches (43.8 x 53.9 cm.).
