Cardboard advertisement featuring the beloved comedy duo Laurel & Hardy, with mechanical motion whereby the movement outwards of Stan's leg cause the pair to take turns doffing their caps and raising their necks to comedic heights.  The illustration by Cvellar, advertising text to bottom for "La Aasa / El Ccafé / Logroño," advertising a café in the Spanish city.  Light wear, overall in very fine condition given age.  Approx. 6 x 9 inches (15.2 x 22.9 cm.)

Composed of Englishman Stan Laurel (1890–1965) and American Oliver Hardy (1892–1957), the duo were at the height of their popularity from the late 1920s to the mid-1940s, known for slapstick comedy with Laurel playing the clumsy and childlike friend to Hardy's pompous bully.  As a team, they appeared in 107 films, starring in 32 short silent films, 40 short sound films, and 23 full-length feature films.  After finishing their movie commitments at the end of 1944, they concentrated on performing in stage shows and embarked on a music hall tour of England, Ireland, and Scotland.  The tour proved difficult, between half-empty theatres and Hardy's failing health, and it came to a sudden end when Hardy suffered a heart attack in May 1954.
