Evans, Bill. (1929–1980) & Russell, George. (1923–2009)

"Living Time" – Signed LP to Chico O'Farrill

"Living Time" album signed and inscribed on the reverse in ink by Evans and Russell to composer Chico O'Farrill, "Chico, a pleasure to see you here! / Best always, Bill Evans" and "To my good friends Chico and Lupe / Peace, Sanity, Humanity / George." On the liner notes of the 1972 album, Russell describes the music as "a view of the entire musical scene of today, synthesizing elements of pop, rock, avant-garde jazz and neo-classic 'new music'".  Columbia Stereo KC 31490, together with the record.  In fine condition.

Bill Evans’s influence as a keyboard artist has been acknowledged by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and Keith Jarrett. Plagued by a decades-long struggle with hepatitis and drug addition, Evans died at the age of 51 and autograph material is uncommon.

O'Farrill was a noted Cuban composer, arranger, and conductor who composed and arranged works for Charlie Parker, Stan Keaton, and Benny Goodman amongst many others. (19418)
