"An Oxford Elegy" and "Fantasia Quasi Variazione" Premiere Performance - SIGNED PROGRAM

Rare signed program from the private premiere performance of the important British composer's An Oxford Elegy and Fantasia Quasi Variazione, premiered at his house, The White Gates, on Sunday, November 20th, 1949 by the Tudor Singers, the Schwiller String Quartet, Steuart Wilson (Reciter) and pianist Michael Mullinar.  Composer's  bold signature in black ink to front page, together with an inscription at the foot in blue ink from George Blackford, a member of the Tudor Singers, which reads "It was my great good fortune to sing in the first performance of this beautiful music in Vaughan Williams' house on the 20/11/1949.  Such beauty have I known. / George Blackford."  4 pp. In fine condition, most unusual.  (19367)
