1908 Violin Recital Program

Early original program from a recital by the great violinist at Queen's Hall in Westminster, London on Saturday, October 31st, 1908 at 3 o'clock.  Program included Spohr's Violin Concerto No. 9 in D minor, Handel's Sonata in E major, Wieniawski's Fantasia on Airs from Faust, an Aria by Bach, a Joachim arrangement of a Hungarian Dance by Brahms, and an Auer arrangement of an Etude-Caprice by Paganini.  Elman was accompanied at the piano by M. Waldemar Liachowsky.  Tape to right edge of front cover, cover separated, else fine.  5.5 x 8.5 inches (14 x 21.3 cm).

From the collection of Lota Mundy, student of the important Hungarian violinist and pedagogue Leopold Auer, who exerted a decisive influence on the Russian violin school. (19185)
