"I love youth" - Autograph Letter Signed

Autograph letter addressed to William Kozlenko with holograph address panel affixed lower right.  1p. [ Järvenpää] 5 December, 1931. "Dear Friend, your letter has very much delighted me.  I love youth and I feel very happy having been able to give you something you appreciate. I wish you every success in the life. Yours sincerely, Jean Sibelius." 1/2 page, 4to, with integral blank; even toning overall, some chipping at left edge and hotle to upper blank corner with small losses, horizontal fold. The address panel, 3x5 1/2 inches; faint scattered staining, cancelled and trimmed 2 markka postage stamp. Järvenpää [from postmark], 5 December 1931.

William Kozlenko (1907 - 1984) was a playwright, screenwriter, and editor of multiple stage-play compilations and anthologies, as well as being a founding editor of One-Act Play Magazine, which published from 1937–1942, and a co-founder of the One-Act Repertory Theater. His best-known editorial compilations include The Disputed Works of William Shakespeare and the 1938 collection The Best Short Plays of the Social Theater, which included contemporary works such as Clifford Odets' Waiting for Lefty, Marc Blitzstein's The Cradle Will Rock, and W.H. Auden's and Christopher Isherwood's The Dog Beneath the Skin. (19183)
