Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts Opening Night Gala - Signed Program, 1986

Concert program signed by the conductor, from a Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performance at the Great Woods Opening Night Gala on Friday, June 13, 1986.  Pieces performed included Fanfare for Great Woods (Short Ride in a Fast Machine by Adams, Overture to the opera Benvenuto Cellini by Berlioz, Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor by Saint-Saëns, Fanfare for the Common Man and A Lincoln Portrait by Copland, and symphonic fragments from Daphnis et Chloe by Ravel.  16 pp.  In fine condition.  6 x 11 inches (15.2 x 27.9 cm).

The Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts opened in Mansfield, Connecticut in 1986 as an outdoor amphitheater, with Thomas and the PSO as artists in resident.  It was renamed the Comcast Center in 2008, and subsequently the Xfinity Center in 2014. (19113)
