Signed photograph of the American family music group with signatures of Donny, Merrill, Wayne, Alan, and Jay Osmond, inscribed by one of them"To Debbie Gaber/ Enjoyed your father so much!/ Heard a lot about your folk singing and guitar work!" Two small surface creases, slight fraying to lower left corner, else in fine condition. 10 x 8 inches (25.4 x 20.3 cm.).The Osmonds have gone through various permutations over the course of their career, cycling through different combinations of the six Osmond brothers, but their greatest commercial success came as a quintet from 1971 to 1975. The older brothers have passed away or retired, but Merrill and Jay Osmond still tour as a duo and Donny continues to find success as a solo artist.
From the collection of George Gaber (1916–2007), noted percussionist who performed with a number of professional ensembles, including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Baltimore Symphony and worked with Leonard Bernstein, Otto Klemperer, Igor Stravinsky, Henry Mancini, Duke Ellington and many others over the span of his career. From 1960 to 1986 taught percussion at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and was also an artist in residence at Carnegie Mellon University, an adjudicator for National Music Arts in Japan and the Canadian Music Competition, and a Hall of Fame recipient in Percussion Arts Society.
