The Instructor. Community Helpers Posters

Dansville, NY: F.A. Owen Publishing Company. 1945. Collection of ten educational posters in a printed folder prominently displaying the title The Instructor: Community Helper Posters and an American flag.  From the back of the folder: "Only after a child understands his own personal background in home and community can his mind stretch from the 'here and now' to the 'long ago and far away.'  An excellent way to introduce children to a study of their community environment is through 'community helpers.'  The pictures and accompanying text in this folder supply material for such an approach."  Published 1945 by the F. A. Owen Publishing Company, Dansville, N.Y.  Posters included depict The Teacher, The Fireman, The Librarian, The Policeman, The Bus Driver, The Postman, The Engineer, The Nurse, The Farmer, and The Grocer.  Posters printed in black and white with text to back, laminated as issued, small marks under laminate from mounting pins to corners, mounting remnants outside laminate to outer corners, else very fine.  Folder split at seam, worn along edges, some internal creases and toning, else fine.  10.25 x 13.25 inches (26 x 33.6 cm.).
