Signed Card with Photographs

Signed card from the cellist and conductor along with two half-tone photographs clipped from unidentified publications.  Fine.  Card measures 3.25 x 2.25 inch (8.2 x 5.7 cm.).

Kindler was principal cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra for many years.  He gave first performances of works by Ravel, Schoenberg, and Busoni, who dedicated an arrangement of Bach's Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue for cello/piano to him.  He founded the National Symphony Orchestra in 1931 and was its conductor until his death in 1949.
